Future Artist Kreations UnderGround is both a design studio and an online artistic community. With the goals to promote collaboration and communication among designers around the world. As a design studio we focus on graphic and web design yet we are willing to collaborate with different organizations, designers, who-ever in order to create new works of art that isn’t half-assed. When you first visit this site, you will notice that their is a good amount of articles relating to design; hence the community. As designers we need to communicate and learn from each other, in the past designers have been known to have their own secrets; which is fine, it’s good to have an edge; but we are all brothers, and at F.A.K. UnderGround we don’t agree with cut-throat tactics. We believe you should be able to design with whatever you can get yours hands on and your skills at your own disposal.
The studio is a placeless studio, as in there is no general location for Future Artist Kreations, in the beginning the staff were rarely in the same room, in fact, there are staff members who have never had the chance to meet each other in person (Namely Mr. Rodriguez who had somehow been unable to met the rest of the staff except for Mr.Alvarez).The staff worked together from different locations and collaborated by different means of communication. We still are fond of being able to collaborate from around the world; while now most some of us have met, are in the same general location, or even living with our fellow designers; we will continue to remain placeless; if we have the chance to met each other or even you whether you are a designer or a client, we will. We don’t mind meeting face to face; but if we can’t we don’t mind working with you at a distance.
Future Artist Kreations UnderGround started in 2002 by Adrian Alvarez and Heather Pairan; they were accompanied by Wilton Duarte and later Jimmy Rodriguez till 2003. At the time it’s purpose was unclear and was would serve to host the staff’s artwork. In 2004, the site mostly forgotten about and seemed as if it would end as any other web site. In 2005, Future Artist Kreations UnderGround moved to it’s domain name - Fakunderground.com. Tony Nguyen joined the staff in 2005 but lack of communication along with lack of contribution, the staff was forced to remove him. In December 2005, Fakunderground.com went offline without any warning; forcing Future Artist Kreations to move to a new host and a new domain name in 2006- Futureartistkreations.net; In 2007, Future Artist Kreations Underground attempted to move to a new hosting provider, but at the time, the hosting provider illegally refused to allow the staff to transfer the domain to a new host. The Staff ended up losing the domain name and would later return back to Fakunderground.com .
As Future Artist Kreations Underground was being recreated, it would remain stuck in the middle of the road with conflict. In 2005 it had began leaving it’s roots of being a site for people to becoming a business oriented web site. As 2006 passed it remained mostly a business oriented web site until Adrian Alvarez realized that he was no longer enjoying the project he created four years ago; stuck between the need of money and need of happiness. In early 2007 Heather Pairan suggested making F.A.K. UnderGround into an artistic community; five college ruled notebooks later; the idea seemed to make sense.
In 2007 Future Artist Kreations UnderGround would set out to create a community of artist to promote collaboration and communication; and would use such views to redirect the ways the design studio would act. When it was announced that PixelSurgeon was put to death, F.A.K. UnderGround announced that it would pick up on part of what PixelSurgeon was known for -That we will emphasis on speaking our mind and we will not be afraid to be judged. In December of 2007, F.A.K. UnderGround began supporting a group at a local college, - the RWC AIGA Student Group.
Future Artist Kreations UnderGround’s Mascot and logo was created in 2006 by Heather Lee Pairan. His name is Sam(S.A.M.) which stands for Symbolic Art Mascot. He also is holding a street sign which contains the redesigned logo. The previous logo was created from the graphics in version 3 and was re-used in version 4 alpha.
December has been a bad month for F.A.K. UnderGround; In 2005 everything was lost on the domain Fakunderground.com along with being able to use the domain; however the following year December proved to be a month which no conflicts were found; (it is noted that the year of 2006 we were not using the Fakunderground.com domain but the Futureartistkreations.net domain) However it would be 2007 which December would strike again - Our databases would become corrupted causing F.A.K. Underground to start again this time with only text files and lucky a few php and css files of the layout. However it would be of course an older version and would have to be updated all over again. Computer failures along with conflicts with time would cause the site to remain on the back burner.
